About

The Artworld Passport is a conceptual artwork by contemporary artist Richard Mudariki and is issued by artHARARE, Zimbabwe's leading platform to for contemporary African art. It reimagines the idea of the passport as a cultural object and a living archive.

The project invites audiences, artists, collectors, students and institutions to move through the global art ecosystem - museums, exhibitions, biennales, festivals, residencies, fairs and galleries - while documenting their journey through stamps, art visas, signatures, drawings, doodles, and encounters.

The project explores themes of mobility, access, archiving and participation in the            global art world.

Each artworld passport holder becomes part of an expanding archive of encounters with art spaces, exhibitions, artists, museums, and fairs. Since its launch, the Artworld Passport has appeared in major art events and cities, creating a growing network of participants across continents.
